Job summary

Essentia, part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide professional leadership and technical authority for mechanical infrastructure across the Trust's estate.

You will oversee standards, compliance, risk management and resilience of complex mechanical assets and systems to safeguard patients and staff. Essential experience includes medical gas pipelines, VMAC, steam, water systems, and safe-operating practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (ideally) and professional membership of IMechE or CIBSE, or Chartered Engineer status.
• Authorised Person duties and safe systems of work experience in medical gas pipelines, critical ventilation and pressure systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and technical authority for mechanical infrastructure across the Trust's estate.
• Safeguard patient and staff wellbeing by overseeing technical standards, statutory compliance, risk management and resilience.
