Job summary

Essentia, the operational and infrastructure delivery group of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, seeks an experienced Engineering Compliance Manager to ensure statutory and mandatory building and engineering requirements are met across its healthcare estate. Responsibilities

• Communicate complex technical matters clearly to operations teams and senior stakeholders.

Essentia, part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking an experienced Engineering Compliance Manager to help ensure that statutory and mandatory building and engineering requirements are met across its complex healthcare estate. The role will provide assurance over services delivered by both in-house teams and contracting partners, supporting safe, compliant and effective estate operations.

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust are one of the country’s largest and busiest NHS trusts, comprising Guy’s, St Thomas’, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Royal Brompton and Harefield, alongside community services in Lambeth and Southwark. Its clinical services are supported by a complex, operationally critical estate where safety, resilience and the patient experience are paramount.

Essentia is the Trust’s operational and infrastructure delivery group. Working across the Trust’s hospital, community and partner sites, it brings together engineering, estates, capital development, facilities management, digital technology and other essential services to maintain safe, resilient and high-performing healthcare environments.

The successful candidate will have experience of engineering compliance management within a complex healthcare, estates, facilities or infrastructure environment. They will demonstrate a strong track record in governance, auditing, inspections, risk management, compliance reporting and regulatory readiness, with the judgement to identify gaps, **escalate** concerns and support effective remedial action.

A relevant engineering background is required, together with a strong understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements, health and safety legislation, best practice standards and Health Technical Memoranda. Knowledge of water safety will be particularly valuable. Methodical, resilient and credible, the appointed individual will communicate complex technical matters clearly and build effective relationships with operational colleagues, Responsible Persons, Authorising Engineers, contractors and senior stakeholders.
