Job summary

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional Assistant Director Engineering and Compliance to provide strategic leadership across engineering governance, infrastructure compliance and assurance.

The role reports to the Executive Director, Infrastructure and will translate legal requirements into a deliverable strategy and effective operational practice across the Trust’s estate.

Qualifications

• Proven record of developing and delivering organisation-wide engineering, infrastructure or building services strategies in large, complex and highly regulated environments.
• Led compliance, assurance and risk management functions with responsibility for statutory compliance and governance.
• Knowledge of Health Technical Memoranda and healthcare engineering standards.
• Professional qualifications such as an engineering degree and Chartered Engineer status.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across engineering governance, infrastructure compliance and assurance.
• Translate legal requirements and national policy into strategy and operational practice across the estate.
• Lead major operational and cultural transformation to improve performance and compliance.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, maintain external and internal regulatory readiness.
