Job summary

Kongsberg Maritime - Global Customer Support is seeking a Specialist Electrical Engineer to be the technical SME for rotating electrical machines used in thruster and hybrid propulsion systems. You will support customers worldwide and collaborate with sales, engineering, service, and workshops.

Based in Ulsteinvik, Ålesund Norway or Rauma, Finland, the role bridges deep technical expertise with customer-facing support and lifecycle responsibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Senior experience from relevant industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical rotating machines, power electronics, or marine electrical systems.
• Fluent English and Norwegian or Finnish (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical SME for rotating electrical machines in thruster/hybrid propulsion systems.
• Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for complex issues.
• Technical owner for assigned deliveries, reviews, and escalations within Global Customer Support.
• Review and ensure quality of technical documentation and deliverables per requirements.
• Support technical sales activities and customer dialogues.
• Contribute to lifecycle management of electrical thruster and rotating machinery portfolio.
