Job summary

Kongsberg Maritime is seeking a Specialist Electrical Engineer to strengthen the Global Customer Support Thrusters team. You will act as a subject matter expert for rotating electrical machines, guiding colleagues and supporting lifecycle management across thruster and propulsion systems.

Based in Ulsteinvik, Ålesund, Norway or Rauma, Finland, you will engage with sales, engineering, service, and customers worldwide, driving continuous improvement and ensuring service readiness for new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Senior experience in marine or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical rotating machines and propulsion systems.
• Proficient English and Norwegian or Finnish communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical SME for rotating electrical machines in thruster and propulsion systems.
• Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for complex issues.
• Serve as technical responsible for deliveries, reviews, and escalations.
• Review and ensure quality of technical documentation and deliverables.
• Support technical sales activities including evaluations and customer dialogues.
• Contribute to lifecycle management of the electrical thruster and rotating machinery portfolio.
• Support service readiness for new or modified products and solutions.
• Share best practices across projects and teams.
• Represent Global Customer Support in technical discussions with customers and partners.
• Drive initiatives to improve system performance, reliability, and lifecycle cost.
