The Village of Riverside (pop. 9,200) is just 9 miles from downtown Chicago, located in close proximity to a BNSF Metra line, and is a National Historic Landmark Community designed by visionary landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted. The Resident Services Representative position reports to the Directors of Community Development and Finance and is responsible for performing administrative duties related to Village operations. Resident Services Representatives enter cash receipts, answer the Village main phone line, and greet the public. This position also performs building permit intake, creates reports, schedules inspections, and manages building permit workflow. This position regularly interacts with residents and contractors in person and over the phone.
Riverside is looking for an individual with excellent customer service skills who is quick to learn new processes and systems.
The successful individual will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills and be comfortable using computers including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel. Experience using cash receipting or building permit software is preferred but not required. Bilingual skills are preferred.
Hourly Pay range: $25.12 to $36.52 per hour with starting rate dependent on experience. The Village of Riverside offers a generous benefit plan including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension; 10 days of paid vacation, 2 personal days, 12 sick days and 12 paid holidays.
