Job summary

Enode, a Europe-based energy tech company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build the software layer that makes home energy devices work as one system. The Home Energy team owns integrations and APIs for batteries, solar inverters, HVAC, and smart meters, along with the home energy management (HEM) system and analytics that customers build on.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services in production, API or integration-heavy systems.
• Proven ability to design for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Ability to own work from scoping to production rollout, iterating from insights.
• Comfort in fast-moving environments where teams create clarity together.
• Clear, thoughtful communication across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.
• Product mindset: focus on solving the right problems for customers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain integrations with OEM cloud platforms across batteries, solar, smart meters, and HVAC.
• Design and evolve home energy APIs, unifying telemetry and controls across HEM, batteries, and curtailment.
• Improve observability and vendor performance across integrations and participate in triage rotations.
• Collaborate with partnership and commercial teams on API feasibility for new OEM integrations.
• Build strong relationships with customers to learn and shape future work.
• Debug and ship production features in Node/TypeScript on AWS-based stack.
• Balance speed, quality, and customer impact in day-to-day decisions.
