Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Bergen, Norway, is seeking a Project Manager within Grid & Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) to lead multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project execution, from initiation to handover. You will manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer alignment on complex power quality and grid integration projects.

The role offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies, international stakeholders, and strategic customers, with a focus on profitability, safety, and building

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience managing large and complex projects within engineering, infrastructure, energy, industry, or EPC environments.
  • Strong commercial, financial, and contract management understanding.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and risk management skills, with knowledge of project planning and controls.
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English. PMP, IPMA, Prince2, or similar certification is an advantage (and can also be provided).

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned projects with full responsibility for scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute project plans while managing risks, progress, and project delivery.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, HSE, quality, site, and commissioning.
  • Manage project finances, including forecasting, cost control, change management, and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy standards while promoting safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Your Background
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience managing large and complex projects within engineering, infrastructure, energy, industry, or EPC environments.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience from power systems, substations, FACTS, STATCOM, renewable integration, energy infrastructure, or related industries.
  • Knowledge or experience from EPC project delivery models.
  • Knowledge of different execution models.
  • Comfortable with large multinational projects.
