Job summary

IKM Acona is seeking a Project Control Lead to drive cost control, budgeting and forecasting for a Norwegian project based in Stavanger. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with finance and project teams to ensure accurate reporting.

Required: 10+ years’ relevant project experience, MSc/BSc in a related field, fluent English, and strong planning skills. This contract runs 01.09.2026 to 30.09.2027 and will require proactive risk analysis and KPI monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure cost management approaches, reporting and forecasting with risk and opportunity evaluation.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team for cost, planning, progress reporting and analysis.
  • Coordinate with finance for license budgeting and project coordination.
  • Track expenditure against budgets on dedicated projects.
  • Prepare and collate full project cost estimates across phases.
  • Identify issues and provide improvement recommendations.
  • Support monthly reporting requirements and ad-hoc needs.
  • Coordinate monthly project cost reports with project teams.
  • Support risk-based cost analysis and KPI alignment.
  • Chair cost management meetings with contractors and internal teams.
  • Interface with stakeholders to align cost data and project status.

Education

Job description

On behalf of a client we are seeking a Project Control Lead

Duration: 01.09.2026 - 30.09.2027

RESPONSIBILITIES & WORK TASKS:
  • Ensure the project use a consistent and agreed approach to the management of cost including reporting and forecasting. Active use of risk- and opportunity evaluation in the budgeting process.
  • Lead a team of different discipline for cost, planning, progress reporting, DCC/LCI, MOC and analysis and reporting
  • Support finance in license budgeting and be a focal point for coordination.
  • Tracking of expenditure against budgets on dedicated projects.
  • Actively support projects in preparation of standard project work breakdown structure for project budgets.
  • Preparation and collation of full project cost estimates across project phases.
  • Identify issues and put forward recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist in reporting requirements, planned and ad-hoc.
  • Co-ordinate the completion of the monthly report on dedicated projects working closely with project team members to establish cost/financial information and performance.
  • Support the estimating process to ensure cost risks are identified and appropriately quantified.
  • Review, analyze and challenge supplier and contractor cost- and study reports together with dedicated project control teams.
  • Monitor and act on progress reporting and align with agreed KPIs
  • Direct and chair cost management meetings with contractors on dedicated projects and internal departments involved in the cost process.
  • Interface and coordinate with other stakeholders as required
  • Combine use of planning- and cost data for situational awareness of project status
  • Drive the process of performing cost- and schedule risk analysis
EDUCATION:
  • MSc or BSc in Business Administration, Engineering or a technical certificate in Construction Management
EXPERIENCE:
  • 10+ years of relevant project experience, proven experience from early phase phase execution phase projects in similar position will be preferred
  • Fluent written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Proactively follow up on progress of deliverables
  • Self-organized, self-going
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills
