Job summary

NTNU is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Hydrology and Catchment Biogeochemistry at the Department of Geography and Social Anthropology in Trondheim. The successful candidate will investigate the effects of peatland restoration on hydrology and biogeochemistry through fieldwork, modelling, and data‑driven analyses.

The position is for three years, funded by the Research Council of Norway, with partnerships across European institutions.

Qualifications

• PhD completed before start date.
• Documentation of the completed doctorate must be presented before taking up the position.
• Experience in hydrology, catchment biogeochemistry or peatland restoration.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high‑quality research on peatland restoration and hydrology/biogeochemistry.
• Publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Lead field research activities in collaboration with the PI.
• Curate datasets and use for research/publications.
• Conduct data-driven and modelling analyses of soil saturation and hydrologic response.
• Engage in group discussions and international activities.
• Co‑supervise master and PhD students and assist with funding/academic development.
