Job summary

The University of Oslo invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in remote sensing and modeling of the cryosphere, based at the Department of Geosciences. The appointment is full-time for three years, with 10% devoted to teaching activities.

Qualifications

Must hold a doctoral degree and have submitted the dissertation for evaluation by the closing date.
Fluent oral and written English.
Strong quantitative background and interest in remote sensing or photogrammetry, and data science approaches.
Proven record of research excellence with publications and conference presentations.
Experience with programming for data processing, analysis, or modeling of the cryosphere.

Responsibilities

Develop and apply remote sensing or photogrammetry methods.
Collaborate internationally with leading research environments and space agencies.
Engage in data science approaches such as machine learning and data assimilation for cryospheric models.
Focus on snow and glaciers in mountain regions globally.
Provide a professional development plan within one month of commencement.
