Job summary

The Newmarket Police Department is actively seeking a part-time Public Safety Dispatcher to fill current vacancies in the Communications Division, which provides 24-hour dispatch for Newmarket Police, Fire and EMS, and nearby departments. Responsibilities include receiving calls, dispatching units via CAD, maintaining radio/phone communications, running background checks, and monitoring alarms and cameras.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver’s license is required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Night shift / Weekends / Holidays are required.
• Candidates must successfully complete a formal interview, extensive background investigation and polygraph examination.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency calls from the public and E-911. Dispatch appropriate fire, ambulance or police using computer-aided dispatch.
• Maintains continuous two-way radio and/or telephone communication between Dispatch Center and officers/department personnel.
• Performs criminal record, license, motor vehicle registration record through SPOTS and NCIC checks; enters stolen property, missing and wanted persons into NCIC and other duties as assigned.
• Monitor fire/burglar alarms and security cameras

Part-time Public Safety Dispatcher

The Newmarket, New Hampshire Police Department is actively seeking Public Safety Dispatcher candidates interested in a challenging career to fill current or anticipated vacancies.

The Communications Division provides 24-hour emergency dispatch communications for Newmarket Police, Fire and EMS, and the Newfields Police, Fire and EMS.
