Job summary

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, strong English communication, proficient typing, basic Windows skills, and solid customer service and multitasking abilities under pressure.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Must speak and write English clearly.
• Basic Windows skills; accurate typing.
• Strong customer service and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to stay calm under stress and make good judgments.
• Ability to report events in writing with proper grammar.
• Must be able to hear and distinguish speech via headset.
• DCI certification and related dispatch certifications preferred/within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive and assess emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Enter data and dispatch EMS, police, and fire personnel.
• Log calls and maintain records.
• Answer non-emergency information calls.
• Operate DCI computer and related systems.
• Work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
