Job summary

Ovation Search is seeking an experienced MEP Lead for a growing Nordic data centre group, based in Norway or Sweden. You will lead MEP strategy, coordinating mechanical and electrical delivery across major developments from preconstruction through handover.

You will work with founders and leadership to shape delivery capability, influence procurement, design reviews and commissioning, and help build a scalable MEP platform for hyperscale projects.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading MEP delivery within data centre projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems integration.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle from early stage to handover.
• Willingness to relocate to Norway or Sweden if required.

MEP Lead | Norway or Sweden | Data Centres

One of the Nordics’ most ambitious emerging data centre businesses is entering a significant new phase of growth.

Founded by six highly respected leaders from across the Nordic data centre industry, the business has now secured funding to support its next stage of development, with an ambitious pipeline of opportunities progressing across the region.

This is an opportunity to join at a genuinely formative point.

As the business continues to build its senior delivery capability, we are looking for an experienced MEP Lead, based in either Norway or Sweden, to play a key role across both current and future data centre developments.

This is far more than a traditional project based MEP position.

You will have the opportunity to become deeply embedded within the business, contributing from the earliest stages of a project through preconstruction, bids, technical strategy and procurement, before taking that thinking through construction, commissioning and handover.

Working closely with the founders, Project Directors and wider leadership team, you will help shape the MEP strategy across major hyperscale and mission critical developments and, importantly, influence how the business builds its technical and delivery capability as it scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall MEP strategy and technical delivery across major data centre developments.
• Contribute to preconstruction, bids and tender activity, providing technical and delivery input from the earliest stages.
• Support project planning, procurement strategy, tender evaluations and contractor selection.
• Lead and provide direction to Mechanical and Electrical Project Managers, Package Managers and engineering teams.
• Drive design development, technical reviews, constructability and value engineering.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors, specialist suppliers and key technical partners.
• Ensure seamless integration between MEP, CSA, controls and commissioning.
• Oversee MEP delivery through construction, commissioning, operational readiness and handover.
• Identify and manage programme, technical, interface and commercial risks.
• Act as a senior MEP representative across internal leadership, clients, partners and project stakeholders.
• Help establish the standards, processes and technical capability required to support the wider Nordic growth strategy.

What We’re Looking For

You will need significant experience leading MEP delivery within the data centre sector, with a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems and how they integrate across complex, mission critical developments.

You should be comfortable operating across the full project lifecycle, from early stage technical and preconstruction activity through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

Just as importantly, this role will suit somebody who wants to build, not simply inherit.

The business is growing quickly, and the successful individual will need to be comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where there is genuine opportunity to influence decisions, shape delivery strategy and become an important part of the organisation as it develops.

You will need to be based in Norway or Sweden, or genuinely able to relocate.
