Job summary

Ovation Search represents a Nordic data centre business seeking a Project Director based in Norway or Sweden. This is a senior leadership role within a growing platform, working closely with founders and the leadership team to shape delivery across major data centre developments.

You will lead projects from early preconstruction through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, coordinating commercial, technical and delivery functions and building high-performing teams.

Project Director | Norway or Sweden | Data Centres

One of the Nordics’ most ambitious emerging data centre businesses is entering a significant new phase of growth.

Founded by six highly respected leaders from across the Nordic data centre industry, the business has now secured funding to support its next stage of development, with an ambitious pipeline of data centre opportunities progressing across the region.

As the platform moves forward, we are looking for an exceptional Project Director to take a senior role within the business, based in either Norway or Sweden.

This is not simply an opportunity to deliver a project.

It is an opportunity to join a business while it is still being built, working closely with the founders and leadership team and playing a central role in how major data centre developments are shaped, mobilised and delivered.

The Project Director will take overall leadership of major projects from the early stages of preconstruction and bid activity, through design, procurement and construction, into commissioning, handover and operational readiness.

You will bring together the commercial, technical and delivery functions, provide leadership to the senior project team and act as a key interface between the business, its clients, contractors, consultants and delivery partners.

The Role

• Take overall leadership and accountability for major data centre developments.
• Become involved early in project strategy, preconstruction, bids and tender activity.
• Lead project mobilisation and establish the delivery strategy, programme, governance and project structure.
• Provide leadership across CSA, MEP, project controls, commercial, HSE and commissioning functions.
• Oversee design development, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Build and lead high performing project teams as individual developments move into delivery.
• Manage senior relationships across clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers and key project partners.
• Maintain oversight of programme, budget, risk, quality and commercial performance.
• Identify project challenges early and provide clear leadership around mitigation and decision making.
• Work closely with the founders and wider leadership team on pipeline, future opportunities and delivery strategy.
• Contribute to the processes, standards and culture that will underpin the business as it scales across the Nordics.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an established Project Director with significant data centre delivery experience, ideally gained across large scale hyperscale or mission critical developments.

You will have led complex projects and multidisciplinary teams across the full lifecycle and be equally comfortable engaging at senior client level as you are working closely with the project team on delivery.

You will need strong commercial judgement, technical understanding and the ability to bring together multiple disciplines, contractors and stakeholders around a clear delivery strategy.

But this is also about mindset.

The business is still at a stage where senior leaders can have real influence. We are looking for somebody entrepreneurial, collaborative and ambitious who is excited by the opportunity to help build a platform rather than simply step into an established corporate structure.

You will need to be based in Norway or Sweden, or genuinely able to relocate.
