Manta Technologies, an AI company based in Oslo, is seeking a Head of Group Accounting to own the consolidated accounts for a fast-growing multi-country group. You will lead end-to-end annual and interim reporting, handle tax returns, and shape the finance function with direct access to strategic decision-makers.
You will bring 4+ years in accounting or auditing with direct consolidation experience, Norwegian GAAP and IFRS knowledge, and fluency in Norwegian and English.
Responsible for consolidated accounts, annual and interim reporting, tax returns, and shaping the finance function for a fast-growing AI group.
Manta Technologies is an AI company based in Tjuvholmen, Oslo, building an autonomous reasoning engine that connects to business systems and acts on commercial logic to drive growth. The engine is industry-agnostic, but it's being built out vertical by vertical. Today it lives through two operating companies already billing customers: Marketer.com, which builds the growth engine for e-commerce brands in the US, and Newbuilds.com, which does the same for real estate developers.
Finance here is deliberately lean, which means this role carries genuine weight. As Head of Group Accounting you hold full technical responsibility for the consolidated accounts of Manta - a group that spans several countries and moves fast.
You own the annual accounts and interim reporting for the group, end to end. That means preparing consolidated financial statements, handling tax returns, and managing the accounting implications of equity transactions — which happen regularly in a company-building context. You'll resolve complex technical accounting questions independently, decide when to bring in external specialists, and keep the group's reporting in good shape without a large team behind you. You'll also have a real say in how the finance function is built — the tools, the processes, and the standards we hold ourselves to.
You have at least four years of hands-on experience in accounting or auditing, and you've worked directly with consolidated group accounts — either as a group financial controller or as an auditor with dedicated consolidation responsibility. Your technical grounding in Norwegian GAAP and IFRS is solid enough that you can work through complex issues on your own and know when to prioritize it. You've prepared tax returns in a group structure and understand how equity transactions flow through to the accounts. You don't wait to be told what needs doing — you identify it, prioritize it, and get on with it. You're just as comfortable working in Norwegian as English.
Nice to have: A master's degree in accounting, finance, or economics. A State Authorised Public Accountant qualification (statsautorisert revisor / MRR), or progress toward it. Background at a Big 4 or mid-tier advisory firm. Genuine curiosity about using AI and modern tooling to build a forward-looking finance function.
Manta is at an early and consequential stage. The product is technically ambitious — an AI engine that does not just surface insights but takes autonomous action — and the team is small enough that every person's contribution is visible. You will have genuine influence over how the finance function is built, and direct access to the people making strategic decisions. If you want a role where the work matters and the scope is real, this is it.
