Job summary

Nscale seeks an Infrastructure Operations Engineer in Glomfjord to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable data centre infrastructure. You’ll work with cross-functional teams on deployments, incident response, and long-term operational improvements that matter to customers and the business.

Required: 4+ years in data centres, server administration, virtualization, networking, and automation with Ansible, PowerShell, or Python.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data centre environments.
• Expertise in server administration, virtualization, and networking.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or Python.
• Hands-on server experience within a tech organisation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Advanced technical certifications.
• Ability to make decisions on complex topics in ambiguous, results-driven environments.
• Confidence influencing without authority and building relationships with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure projects, including installations and upgrades.
• Support deployments and operational tasks across additional data centres as required.
• Adapt to customer-driven operational demands, including specialist support outside core business hours.
• Travel to other Nscale data centres to assist colleagues and support business needs.
• Monitor power, cooling, and network connectivity to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Respond to incidents during out-of-hours and participate in on-call cover.
• Handle escalated customer issues, investigate root causes, and implement long-term fixes.
• Design automation scripts and tools to optimise operational processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capacity planning initiatives.
• Drive infrastructure optimisation through practical, scalable improvements.
