Job summary

Trigger.dev is seeking a hands-on Recruiter to work with founders and Chief of Staff to fill technical roles, primarily engineering, on a 3-month fixed-term contract with potential for permanent placement. You will handle sourcing, screening, interviews, and manage agency relationships, building pipelines directly to reduce external spend while maintaining high hiring quality.

You’ll own end-to-end hiring for backend, infra, and related roles, with some generalist roles as they come up.

Qualifications

• Proven recruiting experience, technical-leaning for engineering roles at a startup or scale-up.
• Able to discuss backend, infra, or security roles to screen and sell candidates.
• Strong sourcing and headhunting skills for direct pipelines.
• Experience managing agency relationships and optimizing spend.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with candidates and hiring managers.

Responsibilities

• Executing hiring: sourcing, screening, and interviewing for priority roles.
• Technical hiring focus on engineering, with some generalist roles.
• Head-hunting and proactive sourcing, building pipelines directly.
• Screening and interviewing: first-round screens and structured interviews.
• Managing agency relationships and reducing spend over time.
• Candidate experience: fast, clear, well-communicated process.
• Run Ashby pipeline, keep ATS up to date.
