Clarion Hotel Air is looking for a Conference Host.
We are seeking creative and personable individuals who can deliver a service beyond the ordinary in the Meeting & Event department. This is an extra-help position with a possibility of part‑time employment in the future. The position requires working varied shifts, including evenings, nights and weekends, and the start date will be agreed upon.
No experience is required as long as you are positive, energetic and a quick learner. A valid driver’s license and access to a car are considered an additional advantage.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with event organizers to understand event objectives, logistics, and attendee expectations.
- Welcome guests and provide essential information about evacuation procedures, restrooms, meals, and other event-related details.
- Manage the flow of attendees throughout the conference, ensuring smooth transitions between sessions and activities.
- Oversee the setup of conference rooms, including furniture, refreshments, technology, and equipment, and conduct pre‑event inspections.
- Assist with technical setup and troubleshooting for presentations and events.
- Monitor attendee satisfaction and address any concerns or issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in conference rooms and public areas, and handle basic maintenance tasks when needed.
- Check and finalize invoices for smaller conferences in consultation with the manager or supervisor.
- Prepare and manage daily event schedules (PMs), including handling last‑minute changes.
- Ensure timely delivery of all items and services required for events, and manage conference supplies, including orders when needed.
- Stay informed about ongoing events, contribute to the development of the conference department, and engage in upselling activities.
- Plan and manage your tasks independently, including shift work and weekend duties if needed.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude, energetic, and a quick learner.
- No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training will be provided.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
