Job summary

Nscale operates a data centre in Glomfjord and is seeking a proactive NOC Specialist to monitor networks, servers, and environmental systems 24/7. You will identify anomalies, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate complex issues to senior engineers.

This hands-on role requires strong technical skills and a focus on uptime. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in NOC or data centre settings, a relevant IT degree, and familiarity with monitoring tools and ticketing systems.

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in a NOC, IT helpdesk, or data center environment.
Familiarity with monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
Basic Linux/Unix and Windows Server experience.
Certifications (e.g., Network+, CCNA, ITIL) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

Monitor the health and performance of network infrastructure, servers, and data centre systems 24/7/365.
Respond to alerts, investigate faults, and perform first-line troubleshooting to restore services.
Escalate complex issues to senior engineers with accurate diagnostics and updates.
Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, BMS) to maintain resilience.
Log, prioritise and manage incidents through the ticketing system with clear docs.
Perform routine operational checks and follow SOPs and escalation processes.
Support shift handovers with documented incidents, maintenance, risks, and actions.
Collaborate with Network Engineering, Data Centre Ops, Facilities, and Security teams.
Contribute to root cause investigations and evidence collection for timelines.
Suggest improvements to monitoring and automation to reduce recurring issues.
