Job summary

Van Storm is seeking a Yacht Design Engineer (Mechanical Systems) to translate system concepts into detailed engineering outputs for luxury yachts in the 60-70 metre range. You will develop 3D models and construction-ready drawings for onboard mechanical systems and ensure seamless integration with production constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a technical discipline relevant to yachtbuilding.
• 3+ years of experience in yachtbuilding or shipbuilding mechanical/system design.
• Strong CATIA experience; Siemens NX is a strong alternative.
• Solid understanding of marine systems and installation practices.
• Ability to coordinate interfaces across multiple systems within the vessel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D engineering models and technical drawings for onboard mechanical systems.
• Translate system designs into construction-ready engineering documentation.
• Work in CATIA to create parametric models supporting manufacturing and installation.
• Design and integrate cooling, fuel, exhaust, ventilation, and water systems.
• Ensure proper routing, accessibility, and clash-free layouts within constrained spaces.
