Job summary

Middle Point B.V. in Kaag seeks a senior Mechanical Equipment Engineer to oversee detailed engineering, final designs and 3D modelling for luxury yachts.

You will act as the technical link between Engineering and Production, addressing construction challenges and guiding junior engineers. You will review drawings, coordinate exterior equipment integration, and contribute to improving engineering processes while applying offshore/yacht-building best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in shipbuilding, preferably luxury yacht construction.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D, Teamcenter and Cadmatic.
• Experience with exterior engineering, moving equipment and mechanical equipment integration.
• Understanding of onboard systems, cable and panel arrangements, weight management, and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of yacht-building techniques, production methods, and construction processes.
• Analytical mindset, practical problem-solving skills, and a quality-driven approach.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee detailed engineering, final designs, and 3D modelling to ensure technical accuracy and production feasibility.
• Act as the main technical link between Engineering and Production, addressing construction-related challenges.
• Support and mentor engineers and junior colleagues through technical guidance and design reviews.
• Review engineering drawings and documentation to maintain quality and compliance with maritime regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate the integration of exterior equipment, mechanical systems, and moving installations.
• Contribute to improving engineering processes, technical standards, and production efficiency.
