Job summary

Middle Point B.V. seeks a Designer/Draftsman to design and develop mechanical systems for luxury yachts. You will translate design plans into detailed drawings for Production, coordinating with the Project Leader and Production Engineer.

Requirements include a BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering and at least 4 years in yacht/shipbuilding. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Catia, Rhino and MS Office is expected; salary ranges €52,000–€60,000 gross annually with relocation and housing support.

• Collaborating closely with the Project Leader, Production Engineer and other engineering disciplines throughout the full yacht build cycle.

Mechanical Equipment

As a Designer / Draftsman in the Mechanical Engineering department, you will design and develop the technical systems of complex luxury yachts. Working closely with the Project Leader and Production Engineer, you will translate design plans into clear, detailed drawings that enable Production to build and install the systems efficiently.

Tasks

• Designing and developing mechanical systems for luxury yachts, including ventilation, heating, hydraulic and sanitary installations.
• Creating piping layouts, piping diagrams and system routing based on the design plan.
• Drawing panels and other mechanical components and arranging technical spaces.
• Producing clear and detailed working drawings for the Production department.
• Working with AutoCAD and specialist 2D and 3D design software.
• Collaborating closely with the Project Leader, Production Engineer and other engineering disciplines throughout the full yacht build cycle.
• EU citizenship is required for this position
• Higher Professional Education: BSc / MSc in Mechanical Engineering or relevant study
• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in Yacht / Shipbuilding industry
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software (Catia, Rhino)
• Broad technical understanding of mechanical systems and an interest in developing specialist knowledge.
• Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
• Able to work independently and flexibly while keeping to project schedules.
• Communicative, collaborative and confident within a multidisciplinary team.
• Passion for technology, complex engineering challenges and luxury yacht building.
• Gross annual salary between € 52.000,- and € 60.000,- depending on experience.
