Job summary

GXO Logistics in Heerlen is seeking a confident Warehouse Teamlead to coach a diverse team and support our automated operation for a leading clothing retail customer.

You will monitor performance, improve processes, ensure safety, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep daily operations moving. This role offers ownership and a chance to grow in a dynamic, international logistics environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in logistics or warehouse leadership.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams.
• Strong English communication; Dutch is a plus.
• Comfort with office software and WMS systems.
• Willingness to work in a 2-shift system (6:00–15:00, 15:00–00:00) including alternating Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of warehouse colleagues, including coordinators, permanent employees and flex staff.
• Create a safe, structured and positive working environment where your team understands priorities and can perform at its best.
• Support daily operations by monitoring performance, productivity and quality against agreed standards and KPIs.
• Guide employees with clear instructions, feedback and support so that work is completed safely, efficiently and correctly.
• Play an active role in start-up activities and work closely with cross-functional teams to keep operations moving smoothly.
• Contribute to people decisions, including onboarding, performance reviews, development opportunities and contract recommendations.
• Ensure work instructions and process documentation are up to date, understood and followed by the team.
• Spot opportunities to improve processes and take practical steps to make daily operations better.

What you'll be doing

What you'll bring

• At least 3 years' experience in a similar logistics or warehouse leadership role
• A natural leadership style: you know how to motivate people, give clear direction and build trust with larger teams
• Strong communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus
• Confidence working with office software and WMS systems
• The ability to understand operational processes quickly and identify where improvements can be made
• A proactive, flexible mindset and the energy to take ownership when priorities change
• Availability to work in a 2-shift system: 6:00-15:00 and 15:00-00:00, including alternate Saturdays, within a 40-hour working week
