Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. seeks an experienced Warehouse Manager for its Lelystad Platform in the Netherlands. You will drive daily performance, develop leaders, and ensure safe, efficient operations aligned with customer expectations.

This role offers growth within a rapidly expanding site and exposure to high-volume processes. You will lead teams, optimize workflows, and implement LEAN improvements while reporting to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, engineering, operations or business; 7+ years in warehouse/operations management with leadership experience.
• Proven people-management skills including performance, attendance and coaching in a high-volume setting.
• Strong English communication; Spanish a plus; ability to motivate and collaborate internationally.
• Experience with LEAN / 5S / Six Sigma and structured continuous improvement.
• Analytical, financial and reporting skills; able to drive improvements and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Plan weekly workload, set priorities and ensure KPI-aligned execution.
• Lead and develop Team Leaders and Supervisors to high-performing teams.
• Monitor performance, analyze deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Drive process standardization and continuous improvement using LEAN principles.
• Coordinate staffing levels and shift coverage for reliable flow.
• Ensure safety compliance and promote a safety-first culture.
• Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and the customer on daily topics; support sustainability ideas.
• Regularly align with the Operations Manager to ensure clear priorities and coordination.

What your week looks like as a Warehouse Manager

• Plan and organize the weekly workload, set clear priorities and ensure smooth operational execution in line with KPI and rate expectations
• Lead, coach and develop Team Leaders and Supervisors to build high-performing and engaged teams
• Monitor performance, analyze deviations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
• Drive process standardization and continuous improvement using LEAN principles and GXO Warehousing System practices
• Coordinate workload planning, staffing levels and shift support to ensure a reliable and efficient operational flow
• Ensure full compliance with safety standards, legal requirements and GXO policies, promoting a strong safety-first culture
• Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of operational processes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and engage with the customer on daily operational topics, while contributing to sustainability and efficiency initiatives
• You regularly meet and align with your Operations Manager, to whom you directly report, ensuring clear priorities, performance follow-up and smooth coordination across the operation

What we are looking for:

• (Pre) Bachelor’s degree in logistics, engineering, operations or business, with 7+ years’ warehouse/operations management experience and proven leadership
• Proven people-management skills, including experience in performance, case and absence management, coaching conversations and developing teams in a high-volume operational environment
• Strong communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus), with the ability to motivate teams and collaborate effectively in an international environment
• Proactive, resilient and results-driven, able to take ownership, work under pressure and deliver high-quality service
• Strong analytical, financial and reporting skills, with broad technical insight and a willingness to continuously develop
• Experience with or affinity for LEAN / 5S / Six Sigma and a structured, improvement-focused way of working
• Flexible mindset, being able to work outside a 9–5 schedule, including rotational shifts
