Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, engineering, operations or business, with 7+ years’ warehouse/operations management experience and proven leadership.
  • Proven people-management skills, including performance, case and absence management, coaching conversations and developing teams in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English (Spanish is a plus), with the ability to motivate teams in an international environment.
  • Proactive, resilient and results-driven, able to take ownership, work under pressure and deliver high-quality service.
  • Strong analytical, financial and reporting skills, with broad technical insight and a continuous development mindset.
  • Experience with LEAN / 5S / Six Sigma and a structured, improvement-focused way of working.
  • Flexible mindset, able to work outside a 9–5 schedule, including rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize weekly workload, set priorities and ensure KPI-aligned execution.
  • Lead, coach and develop Team Leaders and Supervisors.
  • Monitor performance, analyze deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive process standardization and continuous improvement using LEAN principles.
  • Coordinate workload planning, staffing and shift support for reliable flow.
  • Ensure safety standards, legal compliance and GXO policies.
  • Maintain reporting and documentation of processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the customer daily.
  • Report to and align with Operations Manager for priorities and coordination.

As GXO continues to expand one of the largest and most advanced logistics hubs in the Netherlands, located in Lelystad, we are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead a key part of our operation. In this role, you will drive daily performance, develop high-performing teams, and ensure that processes run safely, efficiently, and in line with customer expectations. What your week looks like as a Warehouse Manager
  • Plan and organize the weekly workload, set clear priorities and ensure smooth operational execution in line with KPI and rate expectations.
  • Lead, coach and develop Team Leaders and Supervisors to build high-performing and engaged teams.
  • Monitor performance, analyze deviations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive process standardization and continuous improvement using LEAN principles and GXO Warehousing System practices.
  • Coordinate workload planning, staffing levels and shift support to ensure a reliable and efficient operational flow.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety standards, legal requirements and GXO policies, promoting a strong safety-first culture.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of operational processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and engage with the customer on daily operational topics, while contributing to sustainability and efficiency initiatives.
  • You regularly meet and align with your Operations Manager, to whom you directly report, ensuring clear priorities, performance follow-up and smooth coordination across the operation.

What we are looking for:
  • (Pre) Bachelor’s degree in logistics, engineering, operations or business, with 7+ years’ warehouse/operations management experience and proven leadership.
