Job summary

Acre is partnering with a fleet electrification leader to hire a Technical Project Manager in the Netherlands. You will be the NL technical and delivery lead across eMobility and distributed energy projects, owning pre-sales, design coordination and end-to-end delivery, with plans to build a local technical team.

This is a strategic, first NL hire requiring Dutch/English fluency, strong tendering and multi-site delivery capabilities, and the ability to travel across sites and DSOs as needed.

Qualifications

• Dutch and English fluency required.
• 5+ years in low-carbon technical/project delivery.
• Electrical background with recognized qualifications.
• Proven multi-site/infrastructure project delivery from bid to handover.
• Strong tendering experience with technical responses and programme development.
• Knowledge of design assurance, construction and grid/DSO processes.
• Willing to travel; valid NL driving licence; right to work in NL.

Responsibilities

• Act as NL technical authority, shaping go-to-market plans with Country Manager.
• Lead site assessments, technical responses, BoMs and delivery programmes.
• Own requirements, SLDs, cable sizing, earthing, layouts; coordinate designers and OEMs.
• Prepare and manage grid connection submissions; coordinate with DSOs and authorities.
• Plan and control delivery from mobilisation to handover including RAMS, permits, subcontractors, ITPs and commissioning.
• Lead HSE, risk reviews, method statements and toolbox talks; ensure compliance.
• Define technical specs, evaluate bids; manage suppliers and cost/schedule risks with Procurement.
• Manage client/stakeholder relationships; handle RFIs and progress reporting.
• Capture lessons learned and contribute to playbooks and reusable designs.

Role Purpose

This is their first technical hire in the NL market. You will be the country's technical and delivery lead across eMobility and distributed energy projects (EV charging, solar PV, battery storage, and MV/HV upgrades up to 11/20 kV). You'll own technical pre-sales, design coordination, and end-to-end project delivery, while leveraging our Centre of Excellence and delivery playbooks. As the business grows, you will help build and lead a local technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Market-entry technical leadership: Act as the technical authority for NL, shaping and executing our go-to-market plans with the Country Manager and Commercial Director
• Tendering & technical proposals: Lead site assessments, solutioning, technical clarifications, and commercial inputs; produce high-quality technical responses, BoMs, and delivery programmes
• Design & engineering coordination: Own requirements, SLDs, cable sizing, earthing, layouts, and interface control documents; coordinate external designers and OEMs; ensure designs are buildable, safe, and compliant
• Grid connection & DSO interface: Prepare and manage applications, technical submissions, and approvals; coordinate with DSOs and relevant authorities
• Project delivery: Plan and control delivery from mobilisation to handover-RAMS, permits, subcontractor management, quality (ITPs), testing & commissioning, and as-built documentation
• HSE & risk management: Lead risk reviews, method statements, and toolbox talks; ensure legislative and standards compliance; drive a zero-harm culture.
• Procurement & commercial support: Define technical specs, evaluate bids, manage suppliers, and control cost/schedule risks with Procurement and Programme Management.
• Stakeholder & client management: Build trusted relationships with clients, landlords, and authorities; manage change, RFIs, and progress reporting.
• Continuous improvement: Capture lessons learned and contribute to playbooks, standards, and reusable designs.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Language proficiency: Professional fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
• 5+ years in low-carbon technical/project delivery (EV charging, solar PV, battery storage, or related), including MV/HV interfaces up to 11/20 kV
• Electrical background with recognised qualifications (e.g., DUT/BUT, BTS, Licence Pro, or BEng/HNC-equivalent)
• Proven track record delivering multi-site or complex infrastructure projects from bid to handover
• Strong tendering experience (technical responses, pricing inputs, clarifications, and programme development)
• Practical knowledge of design assurance, construction methodologies, commissioning, and grid/DSO processes
• Competent with scheduling and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint, 2D/3D review tools)
• Full driving licence and ability to travel; right to work in NL
• Experience working with NL DSOs and permitting processes; familiarity with IEC/EN standards and local regulations (desired)
• Experience with high-power DC charging (depot/yard-scale), canopy/civil interfaces, and utility substations (desired)
• Professional certification in project delivery or safety leadership (desired)
