Job summary

Van Oord’s Tender & Engineering in Gorinchem invites a graduation student to work on one of two research topics within Subsea Engineering, Cables & Pipelines. You will explore cable burial improvements using sensor data, visualization and automation concepts, or study stabilization of cable protection systems from technical and commercial angles.

You will join a team that values independent work, structured research, and clear recommendations, with input from engineers on offshore wind projects

Qualifications

• Master student in Mechanical Engineering, Offshore Engineering or similar.
• Interest in subsea engineering, offshore wind or cable installation.
• Analytical approach to technical or project challenges.
• Ability to structure research and communicate clear conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for improvement in offshore cable installation.
• Analyse data, technology or alternative engineering concepts.
• Develop recommendations and final thesis with clear findings.
• Test ideas with stakeholders against realistic scenarios.
• Develop practical recommendations for future offshore wind projects.
