Job summary

Van Oord offers a graduation internship within Tender & Engineering. Based in Gorinchem with scale model testing in Moerdijk, you will fuse computational modelling with practical validation to advance subsea rock installation research.

You will work on improving understanding of rock–equipment interactions, translating findings into engineering parameters, and collaborating with specialists to shape future installation solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's level candidate in Civil/Offshore Engineering with strong analytical skills.
• Interest in subsea engineering, offshore installation, or engineering design.
• Analytical approach to technical or project challenges.
• Ability to structure research and communicate conclusions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Work on a research question from the Subsea Rock Installation department.
• Combine computational modelling with physical scale testing.
• Translate research findings into engineering parameters or recommendations.
• Design, execute and analyse scale model tests to validate simulation results.
• Assess rock sizes, shapes and gradings and their effect on installation behaviour.

Education

Master student in Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering or similar
