Job summary

Van Oord invites a graduation student to join the Tender & Engineering group in Gorinchem, linking computational modelling with physical testing in Moerdijk. You will investigate rock installation processes, connect simulations with experiments, and contribute to improved engineering knowledge for offshore projects.

The role focuses on translating research into practical design parameters, working closely with specialists to validate results and support future equipment concepts.

Qualifications

• Master student in Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering or similar.
• Interest in subsea engineering, offshore installation or engineering design.
• Analytical approach to technical or project challenges.
• Ability to structure research and communicate clear conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Join Tender & Engineering in Gorinchem and work with Subsea Rock Installation specialists.
• Translate numerical simulations to practical engineering parameters for equipment and vessels.
• Combine simulations with scale model testing in Moerdijk to validate results.
• Analyze rock grading, equipment interactions and water effects for future designs.
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations for subsea rock installation.
