Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a PMO Officer to support governance, planning, monitoring and reporting for ESAIT projects. The role is based at ESA premises in Noordwijk, The Netherlands or Frascati, Italy, and involves coordinating governance boards, project reviews, and portfolio dashboards.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree and 3+ years in PMO or project/portfolio management, with strong reporting skills and English fluency.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
At least 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
Demonstrated experience in project and portfolio management.
Proven knowledge of PMO governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
Experience in risk and issue management.
Ability to define and monitor KPIs and produce performance reports for management.
Experience in resource and capacity planning.
Knowledge of change management principles.
Experience with PPM tools such as Planisware, Sciforma, ServiceNow or equivalent.
Strong reporting and dashboarding skills.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Governance & Oversight: support PMO framework implementation and governance compliance.
Planning & Reporting: assist in plans, milestones, and reports for management.
Risk, Issue & Change Management: support risk registers and change control processes.
Project Lifecycle Management: assist across lifecycle phases and ensure documentation follows ESA standards.
Tooling & Methodology Support: aid adoption of PPM tools and promote best practices.
Stakeholder Coordination: coordinate among ESAIT divisions and contractors.
