Job summary

Jobgether on behalf of a partner company is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Market Data to be based in the Netherlands. You will design and build a next-generation market data platform delivering real-time feeds and historical datasets to institutional customers in a remote-first team.

You will own distributed backend systems, work on streaming infrastructure and data models, and mentor engineers while influencing architectural decisions across teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building distributed backend systems with high reliability.
• Strong real-time streaming expertise including processing, ordering, and recovery.
• Deep understanding of data correctness, timestamps, and schema evolution.
• Proficient in Rust or Go and backend engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into robust architectural designs.
• End-to-end ownership of services with monitoring and incident response.
• Leadership to influence architecture and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate distributed backend systems for market data ingestion and delivery.
• Build robust streaming infrastructure handling order, timestamps, and recovery.
• Develop reliable data feeds and APIs with defined delivery guarantees.
• Collaborate to improve reference data models and data sources integration.
• Define and monitor SLOs and data quality metrics across the platform.
• Investigate production issues and implement durable fixes.
• Own services through their lifecycle and participate in on-call rotation.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality.
• Lead technical decisions and document architectural proposals.
