• Strong Python proficiency and ability to build reliable software.
• Backend engineering experience designing and operating production systems.
• Good knowledge of APIs, cloud storage, and data structures.
• Experience with automated testing and application security.
• Ability to investigate logs and diagnose complex issues quickly.
• Capability to understand large codebases and complex infrastructure.
• Careful approach to modifying live payment systems with minimal risk.
• Plan safe migrations to reduce downtime and disruption.
• Proactive, independent problem-solver delivering measurable impact.
• Strong communication across engineering, product, finance, tax, and sales.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain payment and billing systems supporting transactions.
• Improve usage-tracking and metering to accurately measure customer activity.
• Lead modernization of pricing and usage-processing infrastructure.
• Enhance payment experiences across entities and providers.
• Collaborate with Finance and Tax for compliance and reporting.
• Partner with Product/Growth to implement pricing changes and experiments.
• Investigate and resolve billing issues by analyzing journeys and logs.
• Design and implement secure, scalable APIs and backend services.
• Plan migrations with backward compatibility and minimal disruption.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust payment solutions.
• Maintain high standards for testing, security, and observability.
