Job summary

Jobgether in the Netherlands partners with clients to recruit a Senior Java Engineer focused on payments. You will design and deliver secure, scalable Java/Spring Boot platforms for high-volume financial transactions and lead architectural decisions across multiple engagements.

You will mentor engineers while driving CI/CD, testing, observability, and security practices in a fully remote setup, utilizing Kafka, cloud-native technologies, and modern development tools.

Qualifications

• At least seven years of professional Java development experience.
• Hands-on payments/fintech domain experience required.
• Strong Java 21+ and Spring Boot proficiency.
• Experience with Kafka, REST APIs, and cloud-based deployments.
• Database proficiency with PostgreSQL and MySQL.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java microservices for payments platforms.
• Define service boundaries, data models, and integration patterns.
• Lead architectural decisions and mentor engineers.
• Improve CI/CD, testing, observability, and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with product, solution architects, and DevOps.
