Job summary

VIA Logistics Professionals is recruiting a Sr. Automation Engineer to drive end-to-end warehouse automation projects in a large-scale logistics setting.

You will translate operational challenges into smart automation solutions and coordinate with operations, customers, suppliers and senior management. You join a team of automation engineers and data scientists handling ~30 active projects across the EMEA region, delivering impact through business cases, financial modelling and rigorous project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Operations, Technology or Business Administration.
• At least 3 years of experience with project ownership and responsibility.
• Experience with automation projects in contract logistics or a 3PL environment.
• Strong analytical capabilities and experience with business cases and financial modelling.

Job description

Do you want to work on large scale automation projects within an international logistics environment? As a (Sr.) Automation Engineer, you will be responsible from concept to go live for warehouse automation projects ranging from several million euros to investments exceeding €50 million. You translate operational challenges into smart solutions in material handling, robotics and warehouse automation. In this role, you work closely with operations, customers, suppliers and senior management on a daily basis.

You will join a specialised team of automation engineers and data scientists, working on approximately 30 active projects across the EMEA region.

What will you do?

• Develop and evaluate warehouse automation concepts and solutions;
• Coordinate RFQ processes and supplier selection activities;
• Build and present business cases, including costs, benefits and risk assessments;
• Support contract negotiations together with procurement and legal teams;
• Lead the implementation and go live phases of automation projects;
• Manage project planning, stakeholders and dependencies;
• Translate data, analyses and scenarios into clear business insights;
• Work simultaneously on multiple complex projects.

What do you bring?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Operations, Technology or Business Administration;
• At least 3 years of relevant experience with project ownership and responsibility;
• Experience with automation projects within contract logistics or a 3PL environment;
• Strong project management skills;
• Proven experience managing stakeholders at different organisational levels;
• Strong analytical capabilities and experience with business cases and financial modelling;
• You have a strong command of English, both spoken and written.
• A professional, persuasive and decisive personality.
