Job description

Join to apply for the Project Engineer role at CEVA Logistics.

We are looking for a new Project Engineer to join our Warehouse location in Den Haag. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for driving operational improvement projects within the warehouse and leading implementation projects for (new) customers. Your innovative ideas and advice will help our departments work more effectively and efficiently, and you will play a direct role in our success!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

As a Project Engineer, you will collaborate with fellow Engineers and other colleagues on a variety of projects with varying levels of complexity. These projects may include optimizing the current warehouse layout, analyzing and reporting data to enable data‑driven operations, supporting the making of business cases for strategic management decisions such as the use of automation, improving operational processes and possibly assisting with the implementation of new customers. Basic knowledge of budgeting, profit and loss, and financial statements will play a key role in supporting project planning and decision‑making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify desired changes by analyzing existing processes, procedures, and systems;
  • Coordinate a (partial) implementation or improvement project;
  • Develop models for capacity, productivity, throughput time and other operational metrics;
  • Advise internal and external stakeholders;
  • Manage projects, including stakeholder engagement, timeline coordination, budget oversight, reporting, and administrative tasks.

You will be based at our warehouse location in Den Haag and report to the Engineering Lead, as part of the Operational Excellence department within the Area Mid‑West. You have close contact with your fellow Engineers in Amsterdam and Nieuwegein, and are willing to offer them support when needed. Monday to Friday are your working days and you are flexible in arranging your working hours within office hours (08:00‑18:00). Working from home is possible by mutual agreement (up to 1 day a week), but also traveling around within the Area is expected.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The person we are looking for enjoys optimizing processes within a large logistics environment. You are skilled at accurately processing, analyzing, and monitoring data. Since you will have frequent contact with different colleagues, we are looking for someone with strong communication skills. You are stress‑resistant and have a mindset focused on continuous improvement.

You deliver effective solutions by analyzing data and expert insights, identifying key issues and proposing practical actions. You consistently develop practical procedures and ensure that tasks are completed through to a conclusion. You adopt a serious and questioning approach to assess situations and draw conclusions, based on a process view, facts and information gathered from others.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum HBO (applied sciences) working and thinking level;
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in logistics;
  • Experience with project‑based work;
  • Proficiency in using automated systems (WMS, ERP tools, etc.) and MS Office, particularly Excel;
  • Familiar with Power BI or data visualization tools;
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and the SCRUM framework is an advantage;
  • Good command of the English language is a requirement (the working language is English).
WHAT DO WE OFFER?

As a Project Engineer, you will receive the following from us:

  • A gross monthly salary between €3,149.41 and €4,801.13 and 8% holiday pay (grading depending on your work experience and level of education);
  • A one‑year contract with the prospect of permanent employment;
  • Working conditions in accordance with our own CEVA CLA including 25 holidays and 5 ADV days on a full‑time basis;
  • Profit distribution of up to 3% in the event of positive operating results and a good pension scheme;
