Job summary

Bentley Systems in Delft is seeking a Team Lead, Software Engineering to drive end-to-end design, development, and delivery of complex software systems. You will combine deep technical leadership with people and project management to deliver high-quality customer experiences.

You will guide design and architecture, coach engineers, and ensure projects meet security, performance, and schedule targets in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years working in relevant Software Engineering roles, including Senior Software Engineer.
• 1+ years leading a team either formally or informally.
• Proficiency in modern backend languages such as Go, Python, or TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience building modern SPAs with frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture and best practices for building and deploying scalable and reliable applications.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Active participation in code reviews and maintaining high code quality across technologies.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in complex applications.
• Strong ability to articulate complex technical concepts to the team and stakeholders.
• Solid experience in an Agile/Scrum environment and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide design and architectural guidance for complex software applications.
• Ensure modelling techniques align with standards and patterns.
• Be accountable for end-to-end delivery including security considerations.
• Lead design reviews and prototype proposed software behaviours.
• Evaluate and enhance current processes using emerging technologies.
• Provide leadership in performance management and project execution.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to meet budgets and timelines.
• Monitor project quality reviews and implement preventive actions.
