AVENTA seeks a Site Engineer to support outfitting works across Vlissingen and Schiedam yards, with occasional Brussels office presence. You will coordinate electromechanical activities and act as SPOC for engineering queries, ensuring design compliance on site.
The role requires strong safety and quality focus, multiyard coordination, and excellent communication with construction and engineering teams in English. Travel across sites is required as part of the role.

About the client
Our client is a confidential major European electricity transmission system operator (TSO), extending its offshore high-voltage grid to connect new offshore windfarms through a landmark artificial energy project. It plays a central role in the Belgian and European energy transition, building a sustainable, green and reliable energy infrastructure.
Project scope
The project delivers the offshore AC substations for a Belgian offshore energy grid connecting new windfarms. The scope includes offshore transmission infrastructure, multiple AC substations (66 kV and 220 kV) and 220 kV AC export cable systems. The AC substation modules and a facility module (about 1050 MW) are being constructed at yards in Vlissingen and Schiedam, with outfitting works starting in summer 2026. The Site Engineer works across both yards and the Brussels office, supporting the Construction lead.
Role overview
To provide site engineering across the two construction yards, acting as the single point of contact for engineering queries (mainly electromechanical) and ensuring safety and quality are guaranteed on site, in support of the Construction lead.
Reporting line: You will report to the Construction lead, working across both yards (Vlissingen and Schiedam) and the Brussels office, and interfacing with the Engineering team and the construction consortium.
