Job summary

g2 Recruitment seeks an HV Lead Secondary Engineer for a high‑voltage substation project in the Netherlands. You will design, develop and document HV substations, layouts and schematics, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders on a long‑term contract.

Requirements include a degree in Electrical Engineering, strong AutoCAD/ECAD experience, and the ability to work in cross‑functional teams; knowledge of Dutch operators (TenneT, Liander, Stedin or similar) is desirable.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver detailed electrical designs for HV substations and associated infrastructure.
• Produce and modify electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Work with AutoCAD and/or ECAD design systems.
• Support the development of substation layouts, electrical schematics and associated engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant technical standards, specifications and project requirements.
• Review existing designs and provide technical input and engineering solutions where required.
• Support the project through the design and delivery phases.

HV Lead Secondary Engineer - High Voltage Substation Project - 12 Month Freelance Contract

Start Date: September 2026 (ASAP)

We are currently seeking an experienced HV Substation Design Engineer to join a major power infrastructure project commencing in September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in high-voltage substation design, looking to work on a long-term project within the Dutch energy infrastructure sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and developing electrical design documentation for HV substation projects, working closely with engineering, project and construction teams to ensure designs meet the required technical and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver detailed electrical designs for HV substations and associated infrastructure.
