Job summary

DEPT is seeking a seasoned User Researcher to join our Experience & Engineering team in the Netherlands. You will plan and conduct studies, frame questions, and translate insights into design decisions within a cross-functional context.

You’ll collaborate with designers, product managers and developers, advocate for evidence-based approaches, and continually evolve research methods. A hybrid work policy and international collaboration are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in user research, ideally in an agency and in agile, product-focused environments.
• Strong skills in running and analysing studies - from usability tests to interviews and concept validations.
• Ability to translate research findings into actionable insights for designers and product managers.
• Familiarity with journey mapping and experience frameworks; apply them to real product work.
• Confidence in facilitating sessions, speaking with users and contributing to product strategy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct user research from discovery to usability testing and concept validation.
• Frame research questions and help teams explore problem spaces.
• Analyse results, document insights, and share them to support decisions.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers and developers in a cross-functional team.
• Contribute to establishing scalable research standards and ways of working.
• Bring structure and best practices to the research process.
