Job summary

Booking.com in Amsterdam seeks a Senior Research Leader to define and drive understanding of customers and the future of travel experiences. You will lead a high‑performing team of researchers and partner with multidisciplinary product teams to shape product strategy across our accommodation business.

You will guide end‑to‑end research programs, mentor managers, and translate insights into executive‑readable narratives that inform roadmaps and launches.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ UX research delivery (in-house or agency).
• Degree or higher in psychology, behavioural sciences, HCI, economics or related.
• Experience with quantitative research (statistics, data science or data analysis).
• Strong analytical skills; distilling complex data into insights.
• Experience as research craft lead to senior stakeholders (Director+).
• Proven ability to translate research into product recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for users across design and development decisions.
• Provide vision for a team of researchers and manage reports.
• Collaborate with the Research Director on research quality and processes.
• Translate objectives into multi‑year research + data roadmap; partner with Data Science/Eng di.
• Lead cross‑data source collaboration to inform strategic planning and roadmaps.
• Deliver executive‑ready communications translating research into actionable insights.
