Job summary

AtS&T in Delft is seeking a Senior Space System Engineer to lead the system engineering activities for our first-generation onboard computing platform. You will manage requirements, run trade-offs, assess risks, and drive integration, test, verification, and validation across multiple engineering disciplines.

You will collaborate with System Architects, FPGA, Embedded and Electronics Engineers to deliver high-performance, reliable space products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field, or extensive work experience equivalent to these qualifications.
• Extensive experience with system engineering practices, guidelines and processes.
• Understanding of satellite operations, space (sub-)systems including electronics, onboard data processing, or related space technologies.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electronics, FPGA and embedded system engineers, architects and customers.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing; Dutch is an advantage.
• Affinity with the Defence sector and the ability to obtain Dutch, NATO, or EU security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage requirements based on internal and external stakeholder input.
• Perform trade-off analyses on system level, closely working together with the System Architect(s).
• Conduct technical risk assessments and define and support risk mitigation strategies.
• Support system integration, test, verification, validation and qualification processes by planning and providing the required documentation.
• Develop and maintain system engineering documentation, including system requirements documents, design documents, ICDs, test plans and reports.
• Research existing industry standards such as ECSS and ensure compliance throughout the development.
• Support and guide colleagues in system engineering activities.
