BlockTech in Amsterdam is seeking a Software Engineer for the Foundation team. You will build and optimize high-reliability, low-latency systems that scale trading and technology teams.

You will ingest trading data with minimal latency, store and stream real-time data, and work with Kafka, NATS, PostgreSQL, and Iceberg. The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, collaboration, and exploring new tools to stay at the forefront of automated trading.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Software Engineer with systems focus.
• Proficiency in Rust (or C/C++ with Rust experience).
• Experience with trading/data infra (Postgres, Kafka, ClickHouse, NATS).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems.
• Strong end-to-end ownership and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency foundational systems.
• Ingest and aggregate trading data with minimal latency.
• Develop infrastructure for real-time data & long-term storage (Kafka, Iceberg).
• Collaborate with multiple teams to integrate with core systems.
• Drive projects from concept to deployment with ownership.
