Job summary

MediaMarkt Hoofdkantoor in Rotterdam seeks a Senior R2R Accountant to manage the Record-to-Report process, incl. month-end and year-end close, reporting, consolidation and audit prep.

You will partner with the Finance Manager, drive improvements with the Global Business Shared Services team in Barcelona, and own end-to-end R2R activities.

The role requires IFRS expertise, SAP and advanced Excel, 5+ years in accounting, and strong communication under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Accounting, Record-to-Report, Audit or a similar financial role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Experience with financial consolidation.
• Strong knowledge of SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial reporting and consolidations.
• Perform balance sheet and P&L reconciliations and ensure accounting accuracy.
• Support audits, statutory reporting and compliance activities.
• Act as a sparring partner for the Finance Manager on accounting and IFRS matters.
• Work closely with the Global Business Shared Services team in Barcelona.
• Identify and implement improvements to R2R processes, controls and systems.
• Support tax accounting activities, including VAT reporting.

As a Senior R2R Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate, complete and timely execution of the Record-to-Report process for MediaMarkt BeNeLux. You will be closely involved in the month-end and year-end closing processes, financial reporting, consolidation and audit preparation. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will act as a trusted sparring partner on accounting, consolidation and reporting matters.

At the same time, you will have an active role in improving and further professionalizing our R2R processes. You willtake end-to-end ownership of your assigned processes and work closely with our Global Business Shared Services team in Barcelona to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.
