Job summary

MediaMarktSaturn Plattform Services GmbH offers an internship in Bonus Controlling based in Rotterdam. You’ll support the team to improve supplier bonus revenue processes, gain hands-on experience in financial controlling, data analysis and reporting, and collaborate across Billing & Disputes and other Finance departments.

You'll work on reconciliation, data analysis, dashboards, and process improvements while developing reporting tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor's or master's degree in finance, business/admin, accounting, economics, or analytics.
• Strong affinity for numbers and analytical problem solving.
• Good Excel skills and interest in reporting and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial reconciliation of supplier bonus agreements, accruals, invoices and receivables.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and risks.
• Develop and improve Excel-based reporting, dashboards and controls.
• Map and document processes; identify inefficiencies; propose standardisation and automation.
• Improve data quality across systems and reports.
• Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to resolve differences.
• Translate findings into practical recommendations for tools or processes.

Your Tasks

Are you interested in finance, data analysis and process improvement? Do you enjoy working with numbers, identifying discrepancies and finding smarter ways of working? Then this internship within Bonus Controlling at MediaMarkt Benelux could be the perfect opportunity for you.

As an intern in Bonus Controlling, you will support the team in improving the accuracy, transparency and efficiency of supplier bonus revenue processes. You will gain hands-on experience in financial controlling, data analysis and reporting while contributing to projects that have a direct impact on our Finance operations..

During your internship, you will work closely with the Bonus Controlling team and collaborate with colleagues from Billing & Disputes and other Finance departments. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Financial reconciliation: Support the reconciliation of supplier bonus agreements, accruals, invoices and receivables to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
• Data analysis: Analyse financial data to identify discrepancies, outstanding balances and potential risks or improvement opportunities.
• Reporting and dashboards: Develop and improve Excel-based reporting tools, dashboards and financial controls to increase visibility into supplier bonus revenues.
• Process improvement: Map and document existing processes, identify inefficiencies and propose opportunities for standardisation and automation.
• Data quality: Help improve the consistency, reliability and transparency of financial data across different systems and reports.
• Stakeholder collaboration: Work with Bonus Controlling, Billing & Disputes and other Finance stakeholders to investigate differences and support the resolution of outstanding issues.
• Project recommendations: Translate your findings into practical recommendations and contribute to the development of an improved reporting or reconciliation tool.

Your Profile

We are looking for a motivated and analytical student who is eager to learn and make a tangible contribution to our Finance team.

You bring:

• You are currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics or a related field.
• You have a strong affinity for numbers, financial data and analytical problem-solving.
• You have good Excel skills and are interested in developing your reporting and data analysis capabilities.
• You work accurately, systematically and with a strong eye for detail.
• You take initiative, think critically and enjoy identifying opportunities for improvement.
• You communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating with different stakeholders.
• You have a good command of English. Dutch is an advantage.

Experience with Power BI, data visualisation or process automation is a plus, but not a requirement.
