Job summary

MediaMarkt Benelux is seeking a Financial Controller to coordinate budgeting and forecasting for the Benelux region. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and our German HQ to ensure accurate planning, reliable reporting, and alignment across the business.

You will manage month-end close, analyze variances, and contribute to financial reporting packages. The role requires 2–4 years in FP&A or controlling, a degree in a finance-related field, and excellent English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in financial controlling, FP&A, or accounting.
• Experience in retail, wholesale, or logistics is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial models and reporting systems.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Proactive, solution-oriented attitude and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the budgeting and forecasting cycles for the Benelux region, collecting input from stakeholders.
• Ensure budget/forecast figures for P&L and Balance Sheet are uploaded into systems with data consistency.
• Act as a key contact for budget/forecast topics and follow up with stakeholders.
• Maintain contact with headquarters in Germany on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Participate in monthly closing by preparing, analyzing, and reporting P&L results.
• Analyze variances between actuals, budgets, and forecasts and share insights with the team.
• Support preparation of regular financial reporting packages for headquarters.
• Maintain strong internal controls and efficient monthly routines.
• Identify opportunities to optimize budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

As Financial Controller Specialist at MediaMarkt, you will play an important role in coordinating the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Benelux region. Your scope of work

Your main responsibilities include:

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinate and support the budget and forecasting cycles for the Benelux region, collecting and consolidating input from various stakeholders across the business.
• Financial Systems & Data Management: Ensure that budget and forecast figures for the P&L and Balance Sheet are accurately uploaded into the relevant systems, maintaining data consistency and alignment with agreed financial plans.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact for budget and forecasting-related topics, following up with stakeholders to gather input, validate assumptions, and ensure timely delivery of financial information.
• Headquarters Coordination: Maintain close contact with our headquarters in Germany regarding budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and related financial processes, ensuring alignment between local and group-level requirements.
• Month-end Closing: Actively participate in the monthly closing process by preparing, analyzing, and reporting P&L results.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts, identify key drivers, and share relevant insights with the controlling team and stakeholders.
• Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of regular financial reporting packages for our headquarters in Germany, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Internal Controls: Maintain strong internal controls and ensure efficient daily, weekly, and monthly controlling routines.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes, and contribute to ad hoc financial analyses and projects.
