Job summary

MediaMarkt Benelux in Rotterdam seeks a Finance Billing Specialist to manage supplier billing end-to-end, from POs to invoices and self-billing credits. You will collaborate with Controlling, Commercial, Credit Control and external suppliers to meet quality and deadline standards.

You will improve data quality, reduce backlogs and drive efficiency in a dynamic, international environment, taking ownership of processes and issues.

Qualifications

• MBO+/HBO-level finance qualification.
• 2–5 years in billing, AR or financial operations.
• Solid understanding of invoicing, POs and financial admin.
• Experience with invoice workflows and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with SAP ERP system.
• Strong Excel skills and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders: collect, validate and register POs, follow up on missing data and ensure readiness before invoicing deadlines.
• Coordinate invoicing workflows: ensure agreements, POs, approvals and invoicing instructions are complete and accurate.
• Process invoices and credit notes: prepare, review and register supplier invoices and self-billing credits in SAP.
• Handle pre-invoicing disputes: register disputes, investigate discrepancies and coordinate follow-up.
• Support Month-End Closing: ensure billing activities are accurate and timely for reliable reporting.
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies: identify missing information and blocked workflows with stakeholders.
• Maintain records: ensure documentation is complete and audit trail is clear.
• Drive continuous improvement: reduce backlogs and improve billing efficiency.

Your scope of work

You will play a key role in ensuring that our supplier billing processes run accurately, efficiently and on time. You will manage the entire billing process, from collecting and registering purchase orders to processing invoices, handling self-billing credit notes and registering pre-invoicing disputes.

Working closely with Bonus Controlling, Commercial, Credit Control, Accounting and external suppliers, you will help translate commercial agreements into accurate invoicing instructions, resolve discrepancies and ensure that financial processes meet our quality standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders: Collect, validate and register purchase orders, proactively follow up on missing or incorrect information, and ensure everything is ready before invoicing deadlines.


• Coordinate invoicing workflows: Manage and monitor invoicing processes in Contract Master and GKM, ensuring agreements, purchase orders, approvals and invoicing instructions are complete and accurate.


• Process invoices and credit notes: Prepare, review and register supplier invoices, corrections, cancellations, rebilling and self-billing credit notes in SAP and relevant systems.


• Handle pre-invoicing disputes: Register incoming disputes, investigate discrepancies, coordinate follow-up actions with the responsible teams and monitor outstanding cases until resolution.


• Support Month-End Closing: Ensure assigned billing activities are completed accurately and on time, contributing to reliable financial reporting and a smooth monthly closing process.


• Monitor and resolve discrepancies: Identify missing information, blocked workflows and inconsistencies across systems, and work with internal stakeholders to find solutions.


• Maintain accurate records: Ensure supporting documentation is complete, system registrations are correct and all activities have a clear audit trail.


• Drive continuous improvement: Identify recurring issues, contribute to backlog reduction and help improve the efficiency, consistency and quality of our billing processes.

Who are you?

• An MBO+ or HBO-level qualification in Finance, Business Administration, Accountancy, Commercial Economics or a related field.


• 2–5 years of relevant experience in billing, accounts receivable, purchase-order management, financial operations or a similar role.


• A solid understanding of invoicing processes, purchase orders, commercial agreements and financial administration.


• Experience with invoice workflows, credit notes, reconciliations and resolving discrepancies or disputes.


• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.


• Strong Excel skills, including working with large datasets, lookups, pivot tables and reconciliations.


• An understanding of Month-End Closing, internal controls and financial documentation requirements.


• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
