Job summary

John Sisk & Son in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial delivery under NEC4 on Life Science projects. You will oversee cost estimation, planning, procurement, forecasting and risk management to ensure budgets align with contractual obligations.

You will mentor junior QS staff, lead valuations and change control, and coordinate with project managers to optimise value while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven NEC3/NEC4 contract delivery experience on large projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and cost-control mindset.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software (Cemar, Primavera, Excel).
• Stakeholder management across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Post-contract delivery from concept to final account.

Responsibilities

• Integrate the commercial strategy with the Commercial Manager for NEC4 projects.
• Manage NEC4 Option B within a framework across packages and projects.
• Liaise with the team to influence commercial decisions.
• Lead tenders, contract finalisation, and forecast-to-complete.
• Lead monthly valuations, change management and early warnings.
• Oversee subcontract procurement, negotiation and management.
• Prepare robust commercial reports for stakeholders.
• Liaise with project managers, planners and site teams to drive value.
• Mentor junior QS staff and promote best practices.
• Prepare forecasts, CV reconciliations and final accounts.
