Job summary

Flexport is seeking a Senior Software Engineer: Platform SRE to design, build and operate the infrastructure powering its global engineering teams. You will focus on reliability, observability and security across the platform that moves freight across 112+ countries.

You’ll work with AWS, Kubernetes, Helm/Argo, Terraform and CI/CD tooling to improve guardrails and resilience. This role blends hands-on engineering with operation responsibilities in a hybrid Amsterdam setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering or infrastructure engineering with production systems.
• Strong cloud infra experience, hands-on AWS.
• Solid Infrastructure-as-Code skills, Terraform preferred.
• Ability to build automation and production tooling in a general-purpose language.
• Experience with incident response and blameless post-mortems.
• Proactive mindset with comfort in ambiguity and high-leverage problem search.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate reliable, scalable infrastructure in AWS and cloud platforms.
• Contribute to container orchestration (Kubernetes), Helm, Argo and deployment guardrails.
• Improve observability stack (Openmetrics, Datadog) for clear insights.
• Follow standards for Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
• Support CI/CD pipelines and tooling (Buildkit, Github Actions, Gradle, Bazel, npm/pnpm/bun, Go and Cargo).
• Improve incident response tooling and partner with product teams on changes.
