Job summary

Flexport is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Platform, Security & Infrastructure (PSI) in Amsterdam. You will design, build and operate scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, with a focus on reliability, observability, and secure operations.

You will work with Kubernetes, Helm, Argo, and CI/CD tooling to help engineers deploy safely. Strong IaC, programming, and incident response experience are essential for proactive, high-impact work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering, site reliability engineering or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code skills, preferably Terraform.
• Ability to build automation and production tooling in a general-purpose language.
• Experience in incident response and blameless post-mortems or COE processes.
• Proactive mindset with ambiguity and problem-solving.
• Good judgment around security, IAM, networking and change management.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to document design and tradeoffs.
• Helpful attitude and ability to unblock teammates and improve others' work.
• Drive for impact: reliability and operability of systems.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building and operating reliable, scalable infrastructure in AWS and other cloud platforms.
• Contributing to container orchestration (Kubernetes), Helm, Argo and related guardrails for safe deployments.
• Improving observability with OpenMetrics and Datadog.
• Following standards for Terraform IaC and reusable infrastructure patterns.
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines and build tooling (Gradle, Bazel, npm/pnpm/bun, Go, Cargo) and artifacts (Artifactory, ECR, GitHub).
• Improving incident response tooling to handle incidents efficiently.
• Partnering with product teams to ship changes affecting the engineering org.
